Lucas Earns 1st Place (and another new PR @ 170-2) in Discus and 1st Place in 100 meters at 39th Annual Altoona Igloo Invitational

Strange as it may seem for an athlete to win both the Discus and 100 meters at an invitational level meet, he did and below is where MileSplit has him ranked in each event:

Discus Throw (170-2): #10 in NATION among all class of 2015 athletes.

100 meters (11.37 FAT): #4 in Pennsylvania among all class of 2015 athletes.

Another new Discus PR of 167-8 > According to MileSplit.us web site, would rank #9 in US among class of 2015 peers!

Yesterday in 40 degree temps and thankfully no wind, David Lucas (junior, class of 2015) tossed yet another PR in the Discus!  His winning throw against Manheim Township (PIAA officiated) landed 167-8 from the circle!  That’s more than 6′ feet better than his PR a few days earlier in the season’s first meet.

That 167-8 throw if posted to MileSplit.us web site would rank David at #9 in USA among class of 2015 peers today!

Especially impressive was David’s series of throws (see picture of official’s score card).  He is becoming a consistent thrower and continuing to better his marks consistently – makes following his progress quite enjoyable!
